Spring Clean Your Grooming Routine
Warmer weather is here, and since spring is a time of cleaning, purging and doing away with the old, it makes sense to do the same with our grooming routine. We’re chomping at the bit to be outside more, taking advantage of the sunshine and warmer temps, so reducing the time it takes to get ready is an added bonus to changing up our routine. Read on for how to spring clean your grooming routine to be out the door faster, looking and feeling sharp.
Slough off your dull, dry winter skin for a fresh, healthy appearance. Look for a gentle cleansing exfoliator that can be used daily in the shower to combine two steps into one and save time.
Many will find in the spring they can do away with the step of an extra moisturizer, which can otherwise turn your face into a giant oil slick in warmer weather. Using a moisturizing aftershave may be all that you need to soothe skin post shave.
Even though you may have dropped your heavier moisturizer for the spring, don’t forget to use sunscreen daily. Skin damage can occur year round and heading outside for your favorite activities requires skin protection. Look for products with at least SPF15 and reapply throughout the day if you’re outdoors.
Switch Up Your Scent
Studies show that the sense of smell is muted during the colder months, so we tend to reach for heavier, bolder scents. Spring and summer require lighter scents so as not to assault our noses or those around us. Try our Leonardo, Hemingway or Kentucky Bourbon scents for a lighter, but still masculine change.
Don’t Forget Beard Care
Many opt to trim their beards in warmer weather, but beardruff may still be an issue. The skin beneath the beard still requires moisturizing; so don’t stop using your beard oil, though you’ll likely find that you need less of it to look and feel better.
There you have it – how to easily spring clean your grooming routine. You’ll be out the door faster, looking and smelling great by incorporating these quick but impactful changes.
